Blog Paused
I am debating if I will fix up this old blog or start fresh. When I first started the blog a year ago only about 50 megabite were available for image space so I hosted the images on my website. However hosting It made it very difficult to keep track of who has visited my images due to hotlinking and the bare bones page stats on my hosting account. Now WordPress gives you 3 GIGS of space for images! It is fantastic the amount of traffic this site is receiving for being a sketchblog! I now have a choice to ether to 1.0 start a new blog from scratch and upload all images directly to wordpress or flickr or 2.) upload most images to flickr and relink every image away from my website. the first choice sounds more appealing but would require me to reclaim all my traffic and that takes time. In the meantime while I make my desision only image thumbnails will be on this site.

If I decide a new blog, I will provide a final post with a link to the new blog
Game Over 1
I still having hot linking problems and having trouble keeping track of my visits. I made the images on this blog too big so I have shrunk them down to 350px. This will make the images consume less bandwidth. This will no longer be a sketch blog but now will be a comic blog. It’s a little tedious to upload doodles and comic every day and comics are fun to do. I will maintain a deviant art account for my artwork.
Note most thumbnails will look blocky due to the hyperlink not being updated yet.
Avatar 4: Air Pilot Weasel
I’m started to draw example avatars again. This image is the final and my favorite of the four in a series of featuring anthropomorphic animals. I plan to do two more sets of avatars featuring The next will be humanoid characters (dwarf, elf, human barbarian). Then Science Fiction (robot, cyborg, human space pilot), Then once a week I will pick a random subject to draw a avatar on.
This weasel was inspired by a quick sketch I had drawn beforehand, I have no clue how he became a air pilot but it gave me a excuse to draw the cool helmet. He has such a devious expression… he is a weasel alright :D. I should include him in one of my projects.

I like how the lion avatar came out, however I can’t escape the feeling I have drawn a cliche.

Red Foxes are a popular subject to draw, however i choose to draw something different, a fennec fox. Man those things have outrageous ears!

More Cool Paint Programs for the Artist Within
After doing some some websufing I have discovered another bunch of freeware goodles for Digital Painter.
Pixia
Pixa is a paint program geared toward anime and cartoons. It has different interface than I am used to. It is very popular among Anime/ Manga Artists. It is kind of like a freeware openCanvus. I had trouble with it crashing in Windows Vista (but hey everything crashes in Vista)
Project Dogwaffle
Project Dogwaffle is a freeware natural media paint program in the vein of Twistedbrush and Artrage. It’s interface reminds me of the old Amiga paint programs. It has some rather nice brushes and options. It also works rather oddly in Vista, I has issue displaying the canvas without minimizing every time you zoom. It is a nice taste of the full program but is still rather limited.
Paint.Net
Paint net is a photoshop clone. Not quite complete though. However it’s brush engine is far more primitive than Gimp’s but it sure does beat windows paint.
Although these programs where fun to play with. I plan to stick with Artrage 2.5 and Artweaver 4.5.8 for natual media painting (Artrage cost $25 and Artweaver is free)
